GyroTouch: Wrist Gyroscope with a Multi-Touch Display

چکیده
We present GyroTouch, a multi-modal approach to the use of a digital gyroscope in a watch form-factor and a multi-touch desktop display with the aim to find properties that can yield better navigation in 3D virtual environments. GyroTouch was created to augment multitouch gestures with other devices. Our approach addressed 3D rotations and 3D Translation used in navigation of virtual environments. This work also includes an algorithm for estimating angular velocity for any given axis, using only one previous sample.

GyroTouch: Complementing the Multi-Touch Display
We present our findings to yield a more intuitive user interaction for navigating 3D worlds. GyroTouch was created to augment multi-touch gestures with other devices. In this paper, a multi-touch display is complemented by a gyroscope to enhance 3D navigation. Our approach uses multiple to sensor to address 3D rotations and 3D Translation used in Navigation. This work also includes a two sample...
متن کاملExpansion of Smartwatch Touch Interface from Touchscreen to Around Device Interface Using Infrared Line Image Sensors
Touchscreen interaction has become a fundamental means of controlling mobile phones and smartwatches. However, the small form factor of a smartwatch limits the available interactive surface area. To overcome this limitation, we propose the expansion of the touch region of the screen to the back of the user's hand. We developed a touch module for sensing the touched finger position on the back o...
متن کاملPeNTa: Formal Modeling for Multi-touch Systems Using Petri Net
Multi-touch technology has become pervasive in our daily lives, with iPhones, iPads, touch displays, and other devices. It is important to find a user input model that can work for multi-touch gesture recognition and can serve as a building block for modeling other modern input devices (e.g., Leap Motion, gyroscope). We present a novel approach to model multi-touch input using Petri Nets. We fo...
متن کاملTwo Turntables and a Mobile Phone
A novel method of digital scratching is presented as an alternative to currently available digital hardware interfaces and time-coded vinyl (TCV). Similar to TCV, the proposed method leverages existing analog turntables as a physical interface to manipulate the playback of digital audio. To do so, however, an accelerometer/gyroscope–equipped smart phone is firmly attached to a modified record, ...
متن کاملTOUCHI: Online Touch User Identification through Wrist-worn Inertial Measurement Units
User identification for multi-touch surfaces is a highly desirable feature that is not inherently supported by existing touch sensing technologies. We present TOUCHI, a novel approach for touch user identification through the use of wrist-worn inertial movement units (IMU). Our approach for user identification is based on identifying the wrist-worn IMU signal that shows the highest similarity t...
